The Arizona State Senate is currently recruiting to fill a receptionist position to support the Research Staff. The Senate Research Staff is an in-house, nonpartisan research department that provides professional research and policy analysis for members of the Senate on a full-time, year-round basis.

The salary is $12.00/hour. The State of Arizona offers excellent employee benefits, including membership in the Arizona State Retirement System, health insurance and optional deferred compensation, medical reimbursement account and dependent day care reimbursement account programs.

Receptionist Duties:

• Answer multiple phone lines and direct calls.
• Greet members of the public visiting Research Staff and assist visitors as necessary.
• Perform general office management duties, including significant filing, mail and document distribution, maintaining office supplies and basic office equipment, faxing and scheduling of the Basement Conference Room.
• Responsible for the maintenance of critical office information, including distributing agendas, meeting notices, bills and amendments to analysts and posting on information board.
• Track legislation and assist in responding to inquiries.
• Set up meetings for analysts, which includes calling members, determining availability, typing and distributing agendas.
• Light typing as needed (letters, memos, fact sheets, labels).

Qualifications:

• Excellent phone skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and to work long hours.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word.
