Thursday, March 30th - Ed Ableser of Tempe is sworn-in as the newest Arizona State Senator, replacing Harry Mitchell who resigned to run for Congress.

Tuesday, March 21st - Kirk Adams is sworn-in as State Representative from Mesa, District 19 (replacing Chuck Gray who was sworn-in March 15th to fill the Senate seat of late Senator Marilyn Jarrett).

Friday, March 10th - State Senator Marilyn Jarrett of Mesa's District 19 passed away.

Thursday, March 2nd - The Senate passes the English Language Learner bill (HB 2064) that was passed by the House a few days earlier. Now it's in the hands of the Governor.

Friday, February 17th - Last day for Senate consideration of Senate Bills; last day for House consideration of House bills.

Tuesday, February 14th - Statehood Day for Arizona

Monday, February 6, 2006 - Last day for introducing bills in the House of Representatives. By rule, deadline extended until February 9th.

Monday, January 30, 2006 - The last day for bill introductions in the Senate.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006 - Governor Janet Napolitano calls a Special Session of the Legislature to address funding educational programs for students classified as English language learners.
